Military Mom
There's no certification for this one, but there should be. I've been there. I know what it's like to see your child step on that bus and pull away, not being able to call them, MISSING that call from them and knowing that they won't be able to call back. I also know how to get through it with joy and peace.
Wife
Again, no certification, but I think I finally got it right this time!
I am a Military Mom
I am a wife and mother of five. I have two sons, and both of them are sailors in the United States Navy. I am beyond proud of all of my children, but this is about my journey of military momming my way to peace.
When Sailor #1 joined the military, while I was excited for him and knew it was a great decision, I was a complete mess. The day he left for boot camp, I collapsed. I cried. I cried for everything. I cried for nothing. I cried when I put away his placemat, when I made chili for the first time for three people (I could have fed half the Navy), when I MISSED HIS PHONE CALL, when I answered his phone call. I was a wreck. He, pardon the pun, sailed through boot camp and beyond.
Then, his brother decided to join the Navy. I knew he would eventually, but I thought he was going to college and then enlist. There was a slight change in plans, and it was all of the sudden. When he signed the contract, I decided right then and there that I was going to have a different experience this time. So, I did. I had peace. Were there hard days? Of course, but I had a completely different experience.
That's when I decided that I would like to support other military moms and help them design their experience, too. If you are having a hard time navigating the waters of being a military mom, then you are in the right place! Welcome!
My Mission:
I help moms who are struggling to navigate the waters of being a military mom. I help them transform grief, worry, and anxiety into clarity, confidence, and peace.
