What Is A Certified Coach?

I announced a while back that I got my certifications as a health and life coach. Now, I’m so excited to say that I have added to my certification collection; I am a Certified Transformational Coach and Certified Mastery Coach! My health and life coach certifications enable me to work with clients on the habit change level. The latter certifications provide me with the tools I need to get down to the belief and identity level. My techniques enable clients to create a new default behavior that is in alignment with their goals, replacing counter-productive “go to” habits.

The coaching profession has BOOMED, especially since TTTGA (That Thing That’s Going Around – I don’t want to be dinged, so that is how I will refer to “it”.)  But, what the heck does a coach do?

I’m glad you asked. A coach is a person who helps people achieve a goal, much like a football coach. A football coach motivates their team and gives them drills and encouragement so they can achieve their goal (win the game). They have systems in place to help you hit your goal, and they will kick your butt if you aren’t performing well. Could the team still win without their coach? Possibly, but a coach certainly helps collapse the timeline. That is sort of what life and health coaches do.
